Wynona L Mandevill's Obituary
Wynona Louise Mandevill was born September 22, 1934 to Marshall Willard Mortimer and Tessie Evelyn (Stewart) Mortimer. She attended elementary school at Bluff City Grade School and graduated from Bluff City High School in 1952. She attended Wesley School of Nursing after high school.
On August 14, 1953, Wynona was united in marriage with Glenn Mandevill. Two daughters were born in this union, Tresa Dianne and Rita Lea.
Wynona enjoyed her life through her family, farming and nursing. She loved working as a nurse and helping people. Her real passion was working the family farm with Glenn. They were active in the Harper County Soil Conservation. Glenn and Wynona retired from farming in April of 1995.
Wynona was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in the community serving as an Anthony City Commissioner for several years, on the FSA Board, the Harper County Crime Stoppers Council, and the Harper County Planning and Zoning Board.
In August of 2003, Glenn and Wynona celebrated 50 years of marriage with a host of family and friends.
During the fall of 2014, Wynona moved into County Living Assisted Living, where she was given wonderful care.
January 14, 2017, Wynona passed away peacefully from this life at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; and her daughter, Rita.
Wynona will be deeply missed by her daughter, Tresa Moser and husband, Quentin of Louisville, KY; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Matt Cupps and wife, Danel and their sons, Carter and Welsey of Lawrence, KS, Curt Miller and sons, Remington and Colt of Valley Center, KS, Ryan Cupps of Malibu, CA, and Lisa Harbin and daughter, Abigail and son, Jack of Argonia, KS; and a host of many other relatives.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Anthony with Mike Cather officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.
Memorials may be made to Country Living Inc., and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
