William Lee "Bill" Foss was born November 12, 1958 in Galena, Kansas, son of William Leonard and Darlene (Parrish) Foss.  He was raised by his grandparents, John and Josephine Foss.  He became a farm hand at a young age and continued his love for farming after moving to Anthony, Kansas at the age of 17.

Bill married Mary Jo LaPlant on February 15, 1980 and together they had two sons: Billy Joe in 1982 and William Leonard II in 1984.  Bill went to work at Commercial Roofing in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.  His family eventually moved back to Anthony where he returned to farming until going to work at Elco in Harper as a painter.  After 15 years with Elco he retired.

Bill loved to camp and fish with the boys when they were growing up and when the weekend came, camping they went.  Keystone Lake was one of his favorite camping and fishing spots, especially since he had cousins he could visit while there.  Good times were also had on trips to Tulsa, spending time with friends and family, playing pool and enjoying beverages.

On July 24, 2025, Bill passed away at his home in Anthony at the age of 66.  He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

Bill will be deeply missed by his sons: Billy Joe Foss (Sandra) and William Leonard Foss II; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held.  Memorials in memory of Bill may be made to the Bill Foss Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
