Vickie Rae Nicholas was born June 18, 1950 in Anthony, Kansas to Glenn and Gladys (Brown) Trotter.  She passed away after a courageous battle with health problems on May 15, 2020 at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 27 days.  Growing up in Attica, Kansas, one of two girls, she attended Puls Elementary and then Attica High School, graduating with the class of 1968.

On November 17, 1973, Vickie married Garry Nicholas at the Spivey United Methodist Church, and became a mother to a son, Kevin and a daughter, Kristin.  Vickie lived for her family.  Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were her biggest joys in life, as well as her dogs.

During her years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Vickie also enjoyed helping Garry with the water trucks.  After retirement, the couple purchased and ran the Dari Cone in Attica.  When not busy at the restaurant, Vickie spent a lot of her energy on helping however she could with her community.  She was a dedicated member of Cross Pointe Christian Church in Harper, where she served as treasurer.

Proceeding Vickie in death are her parents, Glenn in 1999 and Gladys in 2015, and her daughter-in-law, Daphne Nicholas in 2006.  She leaves behind to cherish memories of her a loving family of her husband, Garry Nicholas of Attica; son, Kevin Nicholas and wife, Janet of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Kristin Harding and husband, Ron Scholz of Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Ronda Miller and husband, Dave of Attica; grandchildren: Staci Cushenbery and husband, Jerry of Harper, Kansas; Kira Chapman and husband, Joe of Wichita; Scott Nicholas and wife, Rachel of Wichita; Logan Cain of Wichita; Bremen Scholz of Overland Park; Hannah Harding and fiancé, Mike Cordes of Grandview, Missouri; Emma Harding, Brenna Scholz, and Ryan Harding all of Overland Park; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Jamie Watts of Attica; other relatives and many friends.
