Vickie Sue Bonham was born October 15, 1954 in Anthony, Kansas, daughter of Lawrence and Lila (Fox) Brown. She graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Oklahoma. After graduating she received her CNA certification.
On April 25, 1981, Vickie was united in marriage with Daniel Bonham at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Harper, Kansas. This union was blessed with two daughters: Erika and Jessica.
Vickie and Dan made their home in Attica where Vickie worked for the Attica Long Term Care Facility for many years. She loved her work family and all the residents she cared for. She retired in 2011.
Vickie was a dedicated, loving, supportive wife and mother, committed to making sure her family was close knit. The love they all shared was known and expressed daily. She was always on the front row at all of the girls' sporting events. When she became a grandmother, her heart was overjoyed. She loved and adored Jacquelin aka "Spunky" and Karter aka "Monkey."
Her sarcastic wit, always made everyone smile. She informed Dan when they got married she was going to wear the pants in the family. . . and that apparently worked out well as they were blessed to celebrate their 35th anniversary earlier this year. Vickie enjoyed spending her pastime doing crossword puzzles and cruising around Attica.
On December 4, 2016, Vickie passed away at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 62 years. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Vickie will be deeply missed by her husband, Dan; her daughters: Erika Sprague and Jessica and fiancé, Rick Kenmore; her brother, Garry Brown; her grandchildren: Jacquelin and Karter; her Attica Long Term Care family; her extended Bonham family; and a host of many, many friends.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.
