Vernon Robert Blubaugh was born on August 18, 1938 in Harper, Kansas to Eustice Jeramis "E.J." and Laura Catherine (Moritz) Blubaugh.  The family made their home in Danville, Kansas.  This is where he went to grade school before attending Harper High School, graduating with the class of 1956.

Furthering his education, Vernon attended Wichita University, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  He first worked at McDonnell Douglas for 18 months in St. Louis, Missouri.  After that he began working for Boeing in Wichita, retiring 45 years later.

On December 10, 2020, Vernon passed away in Wichita, Kansas.  He is preceded in death by his parents, E.J. Blubaugh and Laura Freeman and his sister, Anita Louis Busher.  Vernon is survived by his sister, Julia Ann Qualls of Cheney, Kansas; brother, Joe Eugene Blubaugh of Danville; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation is 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Recitation of the Rosary is 10:30 a.m. and Mass of the Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Danville, of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community of Harper County, Father Bob Pinninti officiating.  Interment follows at the Fairview Cemetery, south of Danville.  Please wear protective face covering if able to do so and practice social distancing.
