Tracey Lynn Cook was born on November 9, 1970 in Harper, Kansas, daughter of Daniel Joe Hayes and Janette Lynn Brown.  She grew up in Harper and this is where she attended school before going to Chaparral High School and graduating with the class of 1989.

Meeting the love of her life, Tracey married Debs Dwayne Cook in Attica, Kansas on December 31, 1989 and they made their home in Harper.  The couple were blessed with two daughters, Brianna and Malarie.  Tracey was very much a mother, attending and helping with many of the school activities and fundraisers.  She was at all the sports and band events as well as volunteering with programs such as HOPE, after prom, cookouts, and trips.

Through the years Tracey also stayed busy with different jobs such as Hilger's Insurance, cleaning houses, and then the Attica Post Office.  She enjoyed sewing and gardening, but maybe most of all, she was a professional grammey.  Family was everything to Tracey.  She also loved her friends, spending time with them and helping them in many ways such as getting to appointments or whatever else they may need.

After several years of a courageous battle with Crohn's, Tracey passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita on June 23, 2023.  Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Delbert and Cleo Brown, her father, and a nephew, Sam Cook.  She is survived by her mother, Janette of Wichita; her husband, Debs of the home; daughters, Brianna Turner (Dustin) of El Dorado and Malarie Cook (Carl Specht) of Newton; grandchildren, Wynonna Specht and Baby Turner (on the way); brother, J.D. Myers (Kyle) of Wichita; brother-in-law, Jon Cook (Emily) of Douglas, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Inurnment and Memorial Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Harper Cemetery with Ron Steele officiating.
