Thomas L. Conrady, of Anthony, Kansas, was born January 21, 1946, the son of Carl J. and Rosalie M. (Blubaugh) Conrady.  Tom was the second of five children.

Tom grew up on a farm near Wakita, Oklahoma, where he attended school and graduated in 1964.  He was an active member of the Saint Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Wakita and served as altar boy growing up.  Tom was active in music, lettered in basketball and football, was president of his class and held many offices in student government.

Upon high school graduation, Tom attended Saint Gregory's College in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where he obtained his Associates of Arts degree in History.  He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and participated in the student government association.  In 1966, he enrolled at Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Education degree.  While attending OSU, he worked part time, and eventually full-time, as an administrator for the Single Student Housing Department, became director of the Single Student Housing Area Resident Hall Complex, and assistant director of men's housing.  After attending OSU, Tom began his career as a University Administrator.  In 1971, Tom was united in marriage and was blessed with two sons, Thomas Jr. and Brian.

In November of 1974, he left OSU to pursue a career change.  Tom, along with his brother CJ, purchased the John Deere dealership in Anthony, Kansas forming Conrady Implement Co.  From 1974-2007 Tom co-owned and co-managed the franchise John Deere Ag Dealership in Anthony.  In 2008, Conrady Implement merged with Western Equipment, becoming Conrady Western.  He was an integral and successful part of every aspect of owning and operating the business.  Especially during harvest, he would roll up his sleeves, stock parts, and wait on customers at the counter.  Tom loved being around his customers and dealership colleagues and thought of them as his second family.  His love of the land and farming was evident as he committed himself to his business and customers for 37 years.

Tom married his best friend and soulmate, Barbara, in 1996 and gained two daughters, Gina and Jennifer.  Tom and Barbara shared 25 wonderful years together.  He always said that grandchildren were God's great gifts, and he was blessed with six.  Tom spent many hours on the floor playing with tractors, throwing balls, riding the Johnny Poppers and the gators, teaching them how to drive stick shift, and, of course, a combine, and buying fireworks every 4 ^th of July.  He was always there to support, encourage, and teach his grandchildren.  Tom's most important focus was his family.  He was a leader, role model, and mentor to his children and grandchildren.

During his working career, Tom served as a member of several board of directors including the Anthony Chamber of Commerce, Anthony Hospital, Anthony City Commission, Harper Community Foundation, and Harper County Industrial Development.  He also served on the Anthony City Council as a member and Mayor.

In 2011, Tom retired from the John Deere dealership.  After retirement, he and Barbara continued to enjoy their children and grandchildren and attended many of their grandchildren's activities.  He also enjoyed reading, working in the flower gardens, mowing, and fishing.  He loved spending time outdoors, especially at the family farm, and continued to help with harvest each year.  Tom's priority was always his family, including his work family.  He guided, supported, and was always there to "take care of everyone."  Tom was a man of integrity and great faith.

Tom passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022 in the Patterson Health Center after a strong and courageous battle with cancer.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Rosalie Conrady; brothers, C.J. Conrady and James Conrady; sister, Mary Conrady Healey; and sister-in-law, Cathy Conrady.

Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara Conrady of the home in Anthony, KS; sons: Thomas Conrady Jr. and wife, Tabatha, of Wichita, KS and Brian Conrady and wife, Emily, of Ann Arbor, MI; daughters, Gina Rich and husband, Mike, of Enid, OK and Jennifer Lohmann and husband, Todd, of Manchester, OK; six grandchildren: Lucas Conrady, Ryan and Damon Malaska, Kailey, Trent, and Trevor Lohmann; one brother, Larry Conrady of Enid, OK; other relatives, and many, many friends.

Viewing and registry will be held 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.

Recitation of Rosary and Wake will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Anthony, Kansas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23rd also at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Cemetery near Clyde, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Tom may be made to St. Joan of Arc, Patterson Health Center, or the Manchester Cemetery, in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
