Theodore Lee "Ted" Brown, 93, was born February 20, 1924 to Vernon and Bertha Brown. He passed away June 22, 2017 at the Attica Long Term Care. He was a WWII Veteran and retired custodian, after many years at Attica Grade School. He enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and spending time with his grandchildren.
On May 9, 1948, Ted married Naomi Joyce Buck. She passed away on November 28, 2006, after 58 years of marriage. Two children, Roland and Carol, were born to this union.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Carol Scripsick and husband, Dave of Sharon; daughter-in-law, Monica Brown of Wichita; grandchildren: Mike Scripsick and wife, Jana, Matt Scripsick and wife, Stacy, Mark Scripsick, Amy Hill and husband, Braxton, Gilbert Hoover and wife, Leann, and Maggie Fisher and husband, Darren; great-grandchildren: Zack, Cali, Cauy, Kaleb, Kooper, Mason, Katy, Evan, Lauren, Charlotte and Jacque; brothers, Harold Brown of Wichita, Kenneth Brown of Wellington, and Marland Brown and wife, Margaret of Southwest City, Missouri; sisters: Marie Putman and husband, Vance of California and Della Johnson and husband, Joe of Noel, Missouri; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Joyce Brown; son, Roland Brown; parents, Vernon and Bertha Brown; brother, Alvin Brown; and sister, Violet Carr.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Attica Cemetery, west of Attica, Kansas. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Ted may be made to Attica Long Term Care and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
