Sylvia "Rusty" Campbell was born August 19, 1938 in Flippin, Arkansas, daughter of Richard Norman and Rosa (Whisnant) Norman.

On October 18, 1982, Rusty was united in marriage with Ronald G. "Ronnie" Campbell in Anthony, Kansas where they made their home.

Throughout the years, Rusty worked as an EMT, nurse, truck driver, and sheriff reserve officer.  While raising her two youngest children, Rusty primarily focused on being a mother and homemaker, while also running an upholstery business out of her home.

Rusty loved her family unconditionally.  Always there for her children, she listened and counseled with an open ear and mind.  Many of JerriLin's friends even turned to her for advice.  She always made it clear that her home would always be their home, no matter how old they were, and she never hesitated to do without so that her kids had what they needed or wanted.  A great cook, she always prepared big meals and made sure no one ever went hungry.  Some of her favorite times with her family were spent camping, traveling, or having a family game night.  When the family was together, she was often busy making home videos to treasure for years to come.

Rusty enjoyed sewing, making everything from school clothes for her kids to curtains and blankets. Her sewing talent drew her to love upholstery and she was very good at redoing and fixing any type of vehicle seats, coverings, or furniture.  She loved country music and dancing. She often danced around her house while cleaning and enjoyed going to street dances.  In her down time, she enjoyed circle crossword books and reading.

On March 14, 2022, Rusty passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Anthony at the age of 83 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronnie on October 7, 2010; and her brothers: Dean Norman and Gene Norman.

Rusty will be deeply missed by her children:  Carman Whitney and husband, Matt, Rick Morawitz and wife, Lisa, Nita Hibshman and husband, Harry, JerriLin Norman-Nulik and husband, Jeff; Don Campbell, and Sarah Campbell; sisters: Patsy Davis and Vicki Carthell and husband, Eddie; 15 grandchildren; 39 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; other relatives and many friends.

The family has chosen to celebrate Rusty's life privately.  Registry will be held for the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17th and Friday March 18th at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Anthony.
