Stephen Lee Stone born on December 24, 1948 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Buell C. "B.C." and Christine (Lee) Stone.

Steve married Donna Stover in the summer of 1967 and was blessed with his first daughter, Lana.

Steve later married Ruth Misak on July 10, 1980 in Cunningham, Kansas. Steve gained two more daughters, Kelly and Wendy. To complete his family, his fourth daughter, Chelsea was born.

Working for many years in the oil and natural gas industry, Steve was Manager of Field Technical Services. He was part of setting up the rigs and was responsible for maintaining the gas plants to keep them running. He loved woodworking, leatherworking, collecting and shooting guns, and going fishing.

On July 8, 2017, Steve passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years, 6 months, and 15 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, B.C. and Christine; sister, Trisha Thompson; and daughter, Lana Wheeler. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters: Kelly Masner and husband, Jeff of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Wendy Huntley and husband, Matt of Argonia, Kansas, and Chelsea Bontrager and husband, Clint of Goddard, Kansas; grandchildren: Channing Williams of Wichita, Kansas, Bailey Gonzales of Roswell, New Mexico, Emma Huntley of Argonia, Kansas, Blake Patino of Arlington, Texas, and Kaylie, Trevor, and Mirynn Bontrager of Goddard, Kansas; sister, Nicki Brumley of Odessa, Texas; two nieces and one nephew; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper, Kansas with Minister Jonas Bontrager officiating. The family will scatter Steve's ashes at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
