Obituary

Sohnia Frances Reida, known as Peachie to most, was born on October 5, 1945 to Earl James and Maria Carman (Boza) Reida  She was born in Ancon, Panama while her father was stationed at the Panama Canal.  The youngest of four sisters, they moved to Winfield, Kansas where they began a successful chicken hatchery.  Peachie's favorite memories were time on the farm with her daddy and raising baby chicks – she was always an avid animal lover.

Later in life, Peachie chose to continue to care for her parents in aging years and moved to Torrance, California.  She adopted her daughter, Teressa Reida in 1987, and later bought her home in Lomita, California.

Peachie worked for Crowell Weedon in Los Angeles, CA for 50 years before retiring in 2014.  She made many friends at work that she kept in contact with throughout the years.  She enjoyed caring for others whether at home, work or in everyday life.  After retirement she moved to Wichita, Kansas in 2015 to be closer to her family, including her sisters Angela and Joy.

Her favorite things in the world were her dogs, crime television series, and good food – especially popsicles!  Peachie enjoyed spending time with her family and going to any restaurant that offered a great prime rib.  Her favorite moments were time spent with visits from her daughter and events with family.   She lived to her last day with never-ending compassion, a large smile, and acceptance of anyone she met.  Peachie carried a large presence with her beautiful smile and quirky responses that will truly never be forgotten.
