Sidney Burkholder

Sid Burkholder passed away on August 13, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sidney Jay Burkholder was born on January 26, 1955 in Harper, Kansas, the son of Charles Howard and Selma Elizabeth (Tatman) Burkholder.

Sid graduated from Chaparral High School with the class of 1974. He was united in marriage to TaLana Lu Dautel on September 20, 1975.

Preceding Sid in death were his parents, Charlie and Selma Burkholder; sister, Martha Jean Burkholder; brother, Dennis Carl Burkholder; and brother-in-law, Bob Wohlschlegel. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Talana of the home in rural Harper; son Jonathan Jay Burkholder and his wife, Alicia of Danville, Kansas; grandchildren: Jonathan Dean, Mikhail, Brigham, and Killian; step-granddaughter, Emma; siblings: Joan Wohlschlegel of Harper, Margaret Johnson (Arthur) of Rochester, Minnesota, Howard Burkholder (Eileen) of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Gilbert Burkholder (Kathy) of Harper; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

A Celebration of Life and Inurnment will take place towards the end of next month. The date and time will be updated here early next week.

Memorials contributions may be made payable to the Sid Burkholder Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of funeral home. The memorial fund will be divided amongst local organizations that Sid would appreciate supporting.
