Sheryl Diane Hopkins was born February 13, 1948 in Anthony, Kansas, daughter of Glen Elsworth and Norma Jean (Kane) Patterson.  She grew up on a farm near Anthony, graduating from Anthony High School with the Class of 1966.

Sheryl married and was blessed with two sons: Jeffry Alan and Daniel Wayne.  She raised the boys in Anthony and after they were grown, she moved to Arkansas for a few years before returning to Anthony.  After returning home she worked for Horizon's, Ireland Sales, and Gerber Auction.

Sheryl loved her sons and grandchildren.  Family was always the most important thing to her.  She loved nature and spending time outside whether it be at the creek, salt plains, bird watching, or a trip to the zoo.  She bowled for many years and was an avid collector of everything.

On June 1, 2023, Sheryl passed away at Patterson Health Center at the age of 75.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Danny Dodgen; sister, Cynthia Graves; and nephews, Scott Williams and Jason Sherman.

Sheryl will be deeply missed by her son, Jeff Dodgen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Joel Dodgen, companion, Cassie Reed, and children, Laila, Jason, and Eli, Caitlin Borghoff and son, Truett, and Chloe Dodgen; niece, Becky Rader and son, Blake; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends.

Memorial graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.

Memorials in memory of Sheryl may be made to the Shrine Plane of Mercy and sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
