Michael "Shane" Marsh was born April 8, 1974 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was the older of two sons born to Earl and Joyce Marsh. Shane passed away suddenly on November 19, 2018 at the age of 44 years.

Shane lived in Haven, Kansas until he was 6 years old. At that time, his family moved to Dumas, Texas. He attended school 1st-12th grade in Dumas, graduating from Dumas High School in 1993. He was active in sports and played soccer, football, and baseball. He also participated in rodeos.

He spent every summer on the farm in Bluff City with his grandparents, Stanley and Cleo Jelinek. As soon as he graduated from high school, he headed to Bluff City and continued to live there until his death.

Shane worked in the oil field on a few different occasions, but it was always farming that called him back home. He started farming with his grandpa at the age of 12 and continued for the rest of his life. It all came so easy and natural for him. He could run any piece of equipment and also spot any repairs very quickly.

He loved the thrill of riding motorcycles, 4-wheelers, roller coasters, going stock tanking down Bluff Creek, and riding rides at the State Fair. He also enjoyed cooking, especially doing any kind of grilling.

Shane was united in marriage with Heather Beilue on July 27, 2002 in Dumas, Texas. They were blessed with two sons, Baylen and Drayson. Shane loved his boys dearly and was so proud of them.

Shane was a quiet man with many talents. He could fabricate and build almost anything you could think of with metal or wood. The last year and a half, he got to share those talents while working at Progressive Ag Coop in Bluff City. He also used those talents as Mayor of Bluff City.

Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents: Stanley and Cleo Jelinek and John and Delphia Marsh.

Shane will be deeply missed by Heather; sons, Baylen and Drayson; parents, Earl and Joyce Marsh; brother, Travis and Annette and Brailey, Brieley and Brenson; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bluff City, Kansas.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the City of Bluff City or the Bluff City United Methodist Church, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
