Sandy Lee Witters, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at Patterson Health Center in Anthony, Kansas, at the age of 70.

Sandy was born on December 10, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas, to Bill and Norma (Peitz) Witters. He was raised in a tight-knit family, spending much of his youth in Harper County, Kansas, where his beloved Granny Hazel Welch Peitz played a significant role in his upbringing. Sandy cherished his time with his cousins and family on the farm, creating memories that stayed with him throughout his life. Here he developed a strong work ethic and a deep sense of adventure. He and his sister, Lori, also spent many summers with their dad in Florida.

After graduating from Chaparral High School in 1973, Sandy worked in various industries, including construction, auto mechanic, and in the oilfield as a rig hand and eventually a winch truck driver. He spent time in Mississippi to be closer to his father before returning to Anthony, where he eventually built a successful business as an oilfield pumper. Sandy's dedication to his work was unwavering, and he only took time off for important family events.

Sandy was a true outdoorsman. He loved farming, hunting, and fishing, with a particular passion for deer hunting-especially bow hunting. His knack for finding the best fishing spots and his love for bird watching were some of his greatest joys. Sandy spent countless hours working his farm, planting gardens, and enjoying the simple pleasures in life that he learned from his parents and grandmother.

In 1976, Sandy married Betty Clutter, and together they built a loving home and family in Anthony, Kansas. As a devoted husband and father, Sandy's love for his children—Craig, Michelle, and Jacob—and later his grandchildren, was immeasurable. His quiet strength and deep commitment to his family were evident in everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Witters and Norma Peitz.

Sandy is survived by his loving wife, Betty Witters; children, Craig Witters of Wichita, Kansas, Michelle Barnett of Anthony, Kansas and Jacob (Jazmin) Witters of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his sister, Lori (Jim) Weidner of Independence, Kansas; brother, Matt (Carolyn) Watkins of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; step-sisters, Charissa Gentry and Cynthia Howard (Brad); and four grandsons, Jaxon, Brady, Brody (Barnett) and James Witters.

Sandy's legacy of hard work, love for nature, and deep devotion to his family will never be forgotten. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held July 12th at 2pm at the First Baptist Church of Anthony, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sandy's memory to the First Baptist Church of Anthony.
