Ruth (Rudy) Olson was born December 5, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas, the youngest child of Richard and Mary Mckown.

Fierce friend, proud mother, and loving grandma, she devoted most of her life to her family, though found time to pursue her many interests from music and travel to spirituality and gardening. She collected friends, experiences, and knowledge along with antiques and treasures on her many, often spontaneous adventures. Her quick and fearless sense of humor, her faith, and her generous spirit saw her through the ups and downs of life, including her long fight with cancer.

Rudy was freed from that battle on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She is missed and survived by her aunts: Nancy Britton and Marie Burris; her siblings: Steve McKown (LK) and Tim McKown; her children: Melyssa Dill (Jeff), Richard Olson, and Jason Taylor; her nieces: Sydney Shook (Nate), Kasey Rains (Robert), and Trinity McKown; her grandchildren Alexander, William, and Theodore Olson; and countless friends and loved ones.

Visitation and viewing with Ruth's family present will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas.

Cremation will take place following the viewing and a memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Chaplain Robert Roswurm officiating.  Inurnment will follow at the Burchfiel Cemetery, south of Anthony.
