Rosie M.A. Louthan passed away October 28, 2016 at her home in Harper, Kansas at the age of 85 years and 14 days. Rosie was born on October 14, 1931 in Kremlin, Oklahoma to Willam Henry and Frances B. (Miller) Jaide. She graduated from Garber High School with the class of 1950.
Rosie was united in marriage to Gilbert S. Louthan in 1952 in Garber, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 5 children: Vernon, Bessie, Royal, Mary Ann, and Eva. Gilbert passed away on June 16, 2000.
Most of all, Rosie was a good Christian woman who found the Lord at an early age. She was baptized in Garber in 1945. Upon moving to Harper in 1971, she joined the Harper Christian Church. Rosie enjoyed sewing and needlework and she loved to cook. She was a cook at the Anthony Hospital from 1967 to 1987.
Preceding Rosie in death are her parents William and Frances; her husband Gilbert; all 4 siblings: Mabel Vaugh, Cleo Jaide, Harley Jaide, and Clarence Jaide; and 2 grandsons, Shawn Hays and Michael Loggins II.
Those left behind to cherish memories of Rosie are her 5 children: Vernon Louthan and wife Gloria, Bessie Haraldson, Royal "Roy" Louthan, Mary Ann Fisher and husband Jeff, and Eva Hoggatt and husband David; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.
Friends my register and view from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Visitation with family will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. All at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper, Kansas.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Harper Christian Church with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Harper Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and to help defray funeral expenses, memorials may be given to the Rosie Louthan Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
