Obituary

Rose Ann Fitz was born August 11, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma, the only child born to Wilbur Henry and Sylvia M. (Kelley) Fitz.  Her mother was also an only child so Ann was spoiled by her Kelley grandparents.  Most of her childhood was spent moving from place to place as her dad served in the Air Force for 25 years.  When she was a teenager, her dad was stationed in Turkey and Ann loved it there and often shared stories from this time in her life.  She graduated from Blytheville High School in Blytheville, Arkansas in 1970.

Ann was very close with her parents, especially her mom, so after her dad retired from the Air Force, she moved with her parents to Anthony, Kansas.  Throughout the years she held many jobs including working as an EMT, and at the Theatre, Laundromat, and Friendship Meals, and as a clerk at the local convenient stores.

Ann was always active and liked to stay busy.  She enjoyed photography and loved capturing beautiful cloud and landscape photos, she followed local bands and would help set up for their performances, was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and had an extensive collection of mice figurines.  She loved her cats and always had at least one kitty companion.  She also knew how to style in her jeans, t-shirts, cowboy hat, and belt buckles.  She was known by many for her genuine uniqueness.

Although Ann never had any children, she had no problem finding children to adopt, whom she always treated as her own.  Her big kind heart drew many to her and she loved all her close friends that had become family to her.  She was a member of the Revolution Fellowship Church where she shared a special bond with several fellow members and Pastor Kent.

On July 14, 2023, Ann passed away at Patterson Health Center.  She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Henry Louis and May Edith (Hanna) Fitz and Floyd M. and Mildred A. (Cummings) Kelley.

Ann will be deeply missed by her cousins:  Donna Owen, Reverend Martin Bush, Carlene Ricketts, and Greg Karns; her Revolution Fellowship Family; her adopted children to numerous to name; former co-workers; and many friends.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023 at Revolution Fellowship in Anthony.  Please join us to celebrate her life on her 73rd birthday.  A private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Enid Cemetery, Enid, Oklahoma.

There will be no registry or visitation so friends are encouraged to share memories and leave condolences on her online register.
