Rosa Evelyn Rash went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born on Friday, February 12, 1932 in Alba, Texas to Ike and Ona Bynum. She was one of eleven children.
Evelyn married Tom Smith on October 31, 1948. They had Pam, Tommy, and Ricky. She then married Roscoe Rash on November 28, 1958 and they had Goldie, Rockey, and Debbie.
Evelyn was a homemaker until her children left home, after which she earned her GED and took some accounting courses. She worked at Greyhound in Hiawatha, Kansas and then for the City of Toronto, KS as a receptionist. Lastly she worked for the Public Library in Toronto.
What Evelyn enjoyed most was her church. She taught Sunday school to the little children and sang in the choir. Her hobbies included sewing, arts and crafts, and games. She also enjoyed her growing family of seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roscoe; two sons, Tommy and Ricky; sisters: Francis Duke and Barbara Corbin; brothers, Glen and Chesley; and one grandson, Brad Reeves.
She is survived by her siblings: Oleta Cushing, Kenneth Bynum, Bea Hearvy, Carol Williams, Sharon Seal, and Beverly Melfer; as well as her children: Pam Standly, Goldie Meyer, Rockey Rash, and Debbie Reed; and extended family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. January 10, 2025 at Revolution Fellowship Church in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating. A private inurnment will be held.
Memorials in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Anthony Public Library and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
