Ronny Lee Crow was born July 24, 1937 to Ira Ray and Mildred Louise (Curtis) Crow in Gerlane, Kansas. He was the third of three sons.

After spending early years in Plainview, KS, the family moved to Bluff City and ran Crow's Grocery. Ronny graduated from Bluff City High School, having taken part in sports including playing quarterback for the football team. He then attended a year of college at Northwestern in Alva, OK.

Ronny met Shirley Wilson while dragging Main in Anthony. The two were married May 4, 1958 in Manchester, OK. After a long honeymoon they settled in Anthony, KS. Ronny began work at the Kansas Department of Transportation Anthony office as an engineer. In 1975, Ronny was transferred to the KDOT office in Wichita and there he lived the remainder of his life.  After retiring he worked as a consultant for two road construction companies, Booker Freund and Wildcat Construction, and for FEMA.

Over the years Ronny helped his father-in-law, Mel Wilson, with the wheat harvest from Texas through Kansas to Colorado. He ran a firewood business and umpired at baseball games in the Wichita area.

Ronny loved to travel including a fishing trip to Canada, trips into Mexico with his in-laws, and a trip to Australia to visit his daughter. While working for FEMA, he traveled all across the U.S., including Alaska in January!  Trips to Hawaii were a special destination with Shirley.

Ronny loved movies about the old west and while on a FEMA trip, he successfully took on the challenge to find the grave site of western legend, Wyatt Erp.

Ronny attended and served as an elder in the Anthony Christian Church and later the Antioch Christian Church in Wichita.

In 2022, due to health reasons, Ronny moved into Presbyterian Manor-Memory Care, where he quickly became a favorite of residents and staff. On November 2, 2024, Ronny's lifelong love of 66 ½ years, Shirley, passed on and 12 days later on November 14th, Ronny followed as he left behind the pain and confusion for his Heavenly destination.  He was 87 years old.

Ronny was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Neal and Billy Ray; and great-granddaughter, Madison Faith Sowers.  He is survived by his daughters, Debra (Larry) Olds, Denise (Kevin) Bindrum, Darla Brown; son, Derek (Stacy) Crow; 30 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony, with Jerry Turner officiating.

Friends may view and sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.
