Obituary

Ronnie Lee Patterson, 60, passed away unexpectedly in Hot Springs, Arkansas on December 10, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas to Phillip Lee and Marcella Glee (Hanna) Patterson.

Ronnie graduated from Chaparral High School in 1981, then graduated from Garden City Community college. After school Ronnie returned home to the family farm and began making his way growing his cattle herd. He also served on the SCTelcom board of directors for 22 years.

When he wasn't working Ronnie enjoyed visiting with old friends, making new friends, coyote hunting, and an occasional team roping. But his favorite hobby was horse racing. Ronnie would have lived at the tracks if he didn't feel as if there was always work to be done.

His priority in life was raising his two kids. Daughter Payton resides in Hays with her family Travis, and two sons Riser and River. Son Parker Patterson in Kiowa with his family Chyanne, and two sons Kye and Kelby. Ronnie loved his role as papa Ronnie.

Ronnie is also survived by and will be deeply missed by his longtime companion Michelle, her two children Makayle and Evan Overton and family; stepdaughters, Jordan Focht family, and Kori Boyd family; brothers: Randy and Rocky (Shelly), sisters: Christie (Curt), Cathy and Cari Jo; along with many more family members and friends - as he did not know a stranger, and had a tendency to put everyone else ahead of himself. He would have done anything for anyone.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Phillip and Marcella; niece, Jana Mackey; and bonus son, Estin Overton.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Christian Church in Anthony, Kansas with Kent Olds officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery.

Friends may register from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.  The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.  The casket will remain closed.

Memorials in memory of Ronnie may be made to The Tank Award, CHS Faith and Loyalty, or Oaklawn Chapel, and may be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
