Ronald Albert Beatty was born April 9, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas, son of Ira and Emma L. (Woodring) Beatty. His senior year, Ronnie moved to Grant County, Oklahoma where he graduated from Wakita High School with the Class of 1967.
Ronnie had many interesting traits and always did things his way. He loved living off the land and found many interesting ways to make a living. He fished, farmed, raised goats and cows, and caught grasshoppers, all of which led to the perfect lifestyle for him. Occasionally he had conventional work on a farm or at an aircraft company.
A simple, quiet, and caring man, he helped many without anyone knowing. His mother was the most important person to him, and he always made sure she was taken care of. He had many unique talents like being able to catch a jack rabbit or walk barefoot over broken glass. Putting his life into words is challenging as he was truly one of a kind.
On November 14, 2022, Ronnie passed away at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronnie is survived by his sisters: Nancy Stowers and husband, John, and Dianna Clapp and husband, Fred; other relatives; and many friends.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Manchester Community Building with Neal Gordon officiating.
Memorials in memory of Ronnie may be made to the Charity of Donor's Choice and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
