Obituary

Ronald Verl "Ronny" Mark was born September 26, 1949 in Harper, Kansas, son of Erven R. and Aldean (Hacker) Mark.

Ronny grew up in the Spivey, Kansas area and graduated from Attica High School in 1968. He immediately went into the workforce. During his early years he worked as an auto mechanic. For a time he owned his own Auto Repair Shop in Sayre, Oklahoma, before moving back to Kansas. He worked for Gene Nottingham Repair in Anthony for many years. He then worked for Harper County Road Maintenance and the last few years for a Kingman County Township operating a road grader, which he had to give up in July due to his illness. He took great pride in grading his roads. He loved working on cars, trucks, and anything with a motor. Especially if he could "soup" them up a little and make them run better and faster. He had a passion for racing and raced a few stock cars in his younger days. He liked fishing and hanging out with his buddies, working on cars, and of course telling a few wild stories of his youth, most of which were true. He loved a good joke and had a great sense of humor. He was not a complainer…… even during the worst of times with his illness. He was not a church goer, but he did believe in God. He was very proud of his children and their families. He wasn't the perfect dad, but he was their dad and they knew he loved them.

On November 27, 2016, Ronny passed away at his home in Attica, after a 1 1/2 year battle with cancer at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Samantha Suzanne, two brothers, Erven Lee and Rickie Mark, and an infant sister Carol Jean Mark.

Ronny will be deeply missed by his children, sons Chief Petty Officer Nicholas Mark (wife Elizabeth) and their children Jayden, Sierra and Rebecca of Jinhae, Kyongsang-Namdo, Korea and Kurttis Mark, his children, Lilly, Layla, Kurttis, Eli and Lyndzie, of Bethany, Oklahoma, and daughter Tabitha Garcia (Sean Monetathchi) and their children Samantha, Lauren, Hannah, Tiernan and Tristin of Lawton, Oklahom, sister, Rogena Grigsby, her husband Gary of Attica, KS, and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland Kansas with Pastor Ken Keeling officiating.
