Ronald Wayne Tracy was born on January 1, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas, to Omer J. Tracy Jr and Helen Lucille (Ruhsert) Tracy. The family made their home northwest of Harper, Kansas. Ronald passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 77.
Attending Grandview School in rural Harper, Ron then attended Harper High School, graduating in 1966. During his formative years, Ron was active in 4H, high school band, FFA, and helped his dad on the family farm. He later became a custom harvester for many years, cutting wheat from Oklahoma to South Dakota. A lifelong resident of Harper, Ron worked in the construction industry, the oil field, and spent many years driving a truck.
On February 3, 1973, Ron was united in marriage with Gloria L. Hawkins at the Harper United Methodist Church and they were blessed with five sons: Christopher, Anthony, Jeffery, Dustin, and Jason. The family made their home northwest of Harper. Ron's passions were spending time with family, playing card games with family at Christmas, hunting, and watching his children and grandchildren grow.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Omer Jr and Helen Tracy. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of the home; sons: Christopher Tracy of Harper, Anthony Tracy (Consuelo) of Wichita, Jeffery Tracy (Gina) of Wichita, Dustin Tracy of Wichita, and Jason Tracy (Kristin) of Mentor, Ohio; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Tracy of Harper and Jacquie Tracy-Goodspeed of Wichita; cousins; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Homes, 613 W 14th St ~ Harper, Kansas 67058
