Obituary

Rocky Jean Elliott, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on January 18, 2025 at the age of 40. She was born August 15, 1984 in Great Falls, Montana, daughter of Chris Allan Elliott and Gary Jean Gleeck. Rocky's life was as vibrant and unique as her spirit.

As a young child, she lived briefly in Scottsdale, Arizona, before moving to Seaside, Oregon, where she spent several formative years. In 2001, she moved to Anthony, Kansas to live with her father and became a cherished part of the community.

Rocky was an integral part of her family's business, Elliott Funeral Homes, where she worked alongside her father. Her role in the mortuary was not just a job but a calling, as she found great purpose in helping others and honoring their loved ones' final wishes. Her work reflected her deep compassion and dedication to supporting people during their most difficult times. Though her health eventually prevented her from continuing in the family business, her care and kindness remained at the heart of who she was.

In 2005, Rocky was blessed with her son, Kevin Elliott Bonham. In 2008, she was blessed with her daughter, Devlyn Aura Lynne Helms. Being a mom was her greatest accomplishment and she loved her children fiercely.

Rocky's love for the unconventional and her creative spirit made her unforgettable. She adored the Misfits and found joy in drawing, calligraphy, lettering, and reading. Her fascination with stationary and her eye for detail allowed her to turn even the simplest materials into something beautiful. She shared a special bond with her father through their mutual love of crafting, woodwork, and glass engraving, often creating things that brought smiles to others. Her appreciation for the odd and whimsical was a constant reminder of her vibrant personality.

Rocky will be deeply missed by her children, Kevin Bonham and father, DJ, and Devlyn Helms and father, Matt; siblings: Tim Elliott, Kelly Mahoney, LouAnn Brun, Garijo Wynn, Rebecca Curtiss, and Teresa Ulsted; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Elliott.

Rocky's life was a testament to the power of love, creativity, and kindness. Her memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew her.

Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Christian Church in Anthony, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony. The family invites everyone to join them following the graveside at the Fence Post in Harper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Rocky may be made to the Rocky Elliott Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
