Robert Charles "Bob" Boyer was born to Charles and Grace (Manela) Boyer on March 26, 1932 on the family farm north of Medford, Oklahoma.  Bob lived on the farm, helping his parents, until he married Verna Lea Holtsclaw on October 19, 1952 in Harper, Kansas.

Soon after getting married, Bob entered into the United States Army on November 7, 1952 and served his country in the Korean War for seventeen months.  In October of 1954 he was transferred to the Army Reserve.  Bob was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, ROK Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star, and United Nations Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged in November of 1959 with the rank of Corporal.

Living in Wichita, Kansas, Bob retired from NCR at the age of 60.  He loved fishing, running his Flea Market, was an avid picker, and enjoyed the family farm.  Bob moved to Harper in 2014 and became a resident of Heritage Assisted Living until COVID 19 hit at which time he moved to Anthony Community Care Center.

The Lord called Bob home on July 27, 2023 at the age of 91.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Grace Boyer, and three brothers: Oliver, Alfred, and Eldon Eugene Boyer.  He is survived by his wife; children: Ron Boyer and his wife, Cheryl, Rob Boyer and his wife, Sharon, and Lynda Boyer Fisher and her husband, Wade; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a nephew, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Pastor Dale Jones officiating.
