Reiferd Acord

Reiferd Eugene Acord was born January 19, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas to Walt and Claudine (Trinkle) Acord. He passed away July 19, 2026, at the age of 66.

Reiferd attended Clearwater Schools from kindergarten until he graduated in 1978 from Clearwater High School. He wrestled for 4 years, but didn’t play football because the coach made them run up and down the bleachers, so he quit. In kindergarten, Reiferd met his future wife, Judy. They began dating their freshman year in 1973, and married on November 25, 1978. On November 26, the day after their wedding, Reiferd and Judy moved to Harper, KS to work for Reiferd’s father, who owned Circle A Packing Company.

In 1981, the couple had two children in one year. Bradley was born January 10, 1981 and Brian was born December 24, 1981– what an over achiever Reif was! Shortly after having children, Reiferd began driving a semi-truck, which he did throughout their childhood. After his father’s passing, and missing his children, Reiferd left the trucking business and bought the Attica Locker. When the boys were in high school, you could always find Reiferd at their football games, or coaching Brian from the bleachers at wrestling tournaments. They all enjoyed fishing and hunting together: anything from coyotes, racoons, birds, to rabbits. In their later years, Reiferd and Judy did lots of traveling, anywhere and everywhere! They even bought a 40-foot motor home! Reiferd was known as a master of the slot machines, finding joy in gambling.

Reiferd is survived by his wife, Judy Acord; his two sons, Bradley Acord and Brian Acord; 8 grandchildren: Kyler and Billie Acord, J’Lynne and Brayden Francis, Harley Acord, Zackary Acord, Brock Acord, Erica Acord, Hank Acord, and Maggie Acord; 1 great-grandchild, Gracie Acord; and countless nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Reiferd was preceded in death by his father, Walt Acord; step-mother, Margaret Acord; mother, Claudine Acord; siblings: Roger, David, Patty, Shirley, and John Acord; nephew; Ryan Acord; and niece, Shawnee Tidwell.

After the service, everyone is invited to join the family at the “Party Barn” at 1102 Cleveland, Harper, Kansas.
