Randy Dieker, of Anthony, Kansas, passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of Monday, January 25th at the age of 70, with his wife Karen by his side.
He was born the son of Gerald and Marietta Dieker on February 26, 1950 in Iola, Kansas. He attended and graduated from Chase County High School in 1968. Following high school he attended Emporia State University where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Education.
On May 21, 1971, he and Karen Regier were united in marriage in Newton, Kansas. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage. They moved to Anthony, Kansas in 1976 after he accepted a position teaching fourth grade. Karen and Randy made Anthony their home where they eventually raised six children.
Throughout his lifetime a person could always find Randy teaching something, coaching something, and then later following his grandkids somewhere. Nothing made him prouder than being able to tell people about his family's accomplishments. He taught his children the importance of hard work as they watched him in all of his jobs making sure his family was taken care of. Whether it was managing the Anthony Swimming Pool in the summers, cleaning the KDOT building each week, or even throwing the Hutchinson newspaper. There was never a job that Randy wasn't willing to do. In his lifetime he has had the opportunity to work with so many different children and has stories about each and every one of them.
