Randolf A. Dunmire was born March 8, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas, son of William and Margaret (Sigg) Dunmire. He grew up in Wichita attending Carroll Bishop where he played baseball and ran track. He loved to brag about being the fastest runner. One of his favorite things to do was roller skate and he was lucky enough to get to work at the roller-skating rink through all his high school years.
In 1976, Randy began an apprenticeship in plumbing. He moved to California in 1986. On New Year's Eve in 1989, he met Cheryl Maggard. They married on December 29, 1990. In 1992, they moved to Colorado, where Randy opened his own plumbing company, Roadrunner Plumbing. In 1999, they moved to Arizona. In 2016, Randy retired and they moved to Anthony, Kansas.
Randy was very devoted to his studies in the word of God, which grew his strong relationship with the Lord. He enjoyed gardening, boating, remodeling, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
On October 8, 2024, Randy passed away at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; niece, Olivia Turner; brother-in-law, John Auer; and sister-in-law, Cindy Dunmire.
Randy will be deeply missed by his wife, Cheryl Dunmire; his children and grandchildren: Sara Hedlund and children, Kassidee, Zoe Alivia, and Zephaniah, James Hedlund and wife, Autumn, and children, Aden, Kale, Emery, Owen, and Nolen, and Rebecca Silvas and husband, Edward, and children, Clarity and Elias; his father, William Dunmire Sr.; his siblings: Denise Auer, William (Dana) Dunmire Jr., Rose Ann Harper, Timothy Dunmire, and Colleen (Daren) Wiley; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Randy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the City of Anthony Tree Board and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E Main St, Anthony, KS 67003.
