Randall Craig Ryan, known to most as Randy, was born May 27, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas, son of Vernon E. "Rusty" and Laberta Jean (Bailey) Ryan. He grew up in Anthony, graduating from Anthony High School in 1976. He received an Associate's degree, after attending Hutch Juco for 2 years and Wichita State University.
Coming from a family of talented musicians, in 1970, The Rebel Rousers were started, which included Randy, his mom and dad, his brother, Greg, and at different times family friends, Dana Davis, Dennis Robinson, Craig White, and Ron Prouse. For 18 years the band played at various events and places, 50 of the 52 weekends a year.
In 1995, Randy moved to Nashville where he worked in the music industry for 22 years. He enjoyed his time working for the Grand Ol' Opry, Country Music Association, Corporate Magic, and Crew 1 Staging Company.
In 2017, Randy moved back home to Anthony, Kansas where he began Randy Ryan Tree Service and Lawn Care.
Randy joined the Midian Shrine in 1993 and was a member of the Anthony Christian Church.
On January 4, 2025, Randy passed away at his home at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Greg.
Survivors include his sister, Monica Ryan (Bob Vega); niece, Meagan Etheridge and her husband, Jake, and their daughters, Alexa, Emalee, and Bekah; nephew, Brodie Ryan and wife, Bianca Kamnitzer and their children, Zephyr Antrim Ryan and Iris Breene Ryan; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Anthony Christian Church with Pastor Ron Eden officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony.
Friends may sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 13th at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Randy may be made to the Shrine Plane of Mercy and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
