Phillip H. Harmon, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away October 8, 2026 at Homestead of El Dorado, at the age of 87. He was born September 17, 1939 in Anthony, Kansas, son of Harold Tinneson “Sam” and Leda (Pierce) Harmon. After attending military school for a few years, he returned to Anthony his senior year graduating from Anthony High School with the Class of 1959.
On May 17, 1962, Phil was united in marriage with Lois Suzanne “Sue” Daniel in Anthony. They moved to Colorado for a short time, before returning to Anthony. They later moved to Pratt where Phil worked for the City of Pratt as the Director of Sanitation. After retiring, Phil moved to El Dorado to be near his daughter, Ronda.
Phil enjoyed playing pool, softball, and cowboying.
Phil was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; his mother, Leda Chrisler; his father, Sam; stepmother, Louise Cooper Harmon; daughter, Leanna Cole-Borst; brother, Tom Harmon; and sister, Pat Ingram.
Phil will be deeply missed by his daughter, Ronda Carr and husband, Breck; son-in-law, Scott Borst; grandchildren: Amber (Eric) Nikkel, Gage Cole, Brenden Cole, Lakin (Daulton) Utter, Bryce (Macy) Morgan, Braden Morgan, Bryton Carr, and Brenna Carr; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Nolan; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2026 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating. Inurnment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony.
Friends may sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Phil may be made directly payable to the Kansas Humane Society and may be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
