Peter Dennis Piper passed away December 17, 2017 at his home in St. Petersburg Florida. He loved the beach and sunsets, his family and friends. Peter was born August 28, 1939 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the only child of K.A. Pete Piper and Emma Z. Long Piper. He grew up in Anthony, Kansas graduating from Anthony High School in 1957. Peter went on to Wichita State University on a tennis scholarship majoring in Education, Art and PE.

Peter had a varied career. After teaching tennis in Wichita, he sold insurance with Connecticut Mutual life, quickly making the million dollar round table. He was always a great salesman. After a brief stint in the dry cleaning business in Fargo, North Dakota, Peter traveled the mid-west working in sales in the plastics industry. He found his true calling as an entrepreneur. For his first venture, he designed an outdoor PVC furniture line. It was as unique as Peter and he successfully patented the process and design, manufactured the pieces and sold them through his own stores in Dallas, Houston, and OKC. Other ventures included art, travel, advertising and barter. He approached each the way he did everything - seeing possibilities others did not, as well as the best in the people he met along the way.

Peter and will be deeply missed by his daughter, Dana Piper Blazevic (Eric) and grandchildren, Rachel and Sarah Blazevic, extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Peter may be made to the Anthony Recreation Board to help support the ball fields his father had built when he was growing up.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 beginning with a memorial service at 1:30pm at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E Main St, Anthony, KS. Family will receive guests anytime after 1:00pm. This will be followed by a reception to share memories and light refreshments at 2:30pm at the Cobblestone Inn, 816 W. Wheatridge Drive, Anthony.
