Patricia Blanche Hostetler was born on March 14, 1932 in Barronett, Wisconsin to Myron and Ruth (Swanson) Wallace. This is where she was raised along with her sister Myra until her father passed away when she was 14. Pat went to live with relatives in Arkansas and she graduated from high school there.

Right out of high school, Pat joined the United States Air Force. While serving her country, she met Wilmot "Bill" Hartsock and they got married. The couple had six children: Catherine, Treasure (Terrie), Linda, John, Carolyn, and Steve.

On January 17, 1981, Patricia married Duane Hostetler and his seven children became a part of her life. When Duane became ill, Patricia dedicated her life to caring for him until he passed away on February 7, 2006. This was Pat's nature as she had worked many years as a nurse aide in nursing homes as well as took care of people in their homes.

Pat loved painting and reading. When her own health started to fail, she became a resident of Attica Long Term Care and they became her new family. Most of her family lived miles away but she did stay in touch with a few special people. One of those being a niece and the two of them wrote each other often. In these letters, along with many other things, she told of how she loved to play bingo at the nursing home and that it was a highlight of her week when they would push her in her wheelchair across the parking lot so she could attend the Faith Baptist Church.

On July 31, 2017, Patricia passed away in her bed at the nursing home at the age of 85 years, 4 months, and 17 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Ruth; her husband, Duane; her sister, Myra Proulx; and two of her stepchildren, Barbara Hostetler and Don Hostetler. She will be missed by her children: Catherine Hartsock, Terrie Hartsock, Linda Franklin, John Franklin, Carolyn Franklin, and Steve Franklin; stepchildren: Leland Hostetler, Lonnie Hostetler, Rolland Hostetler, Melinda Goodman, and Karen Milliken; other relatives and friends; and her family at Attica Long Term Care.

Friends may view and register on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside service is at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Harper Cemetery with Brother Jason Byers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
