Patsy Ruth Peitz, the daughter of Harold Peitz and Hazel (Welch) Peitz was born in the home near Waldron, Kansas on May 30, 1934.  Pat went to her Heavenly home on December 15, 2022, at the age of 88 years, while living at Country Living, Anthony, Kansas.

Pat was married to Bill E. Dautel and they celebrated 66 anniversaries together.  Their children are Toni Wynne, TaLana Lu and Todd William.  Bill went to his Heavenly home on February 10, 2017.

Pat received her baptism as a young girl in the Anthony Christian Church.  She had many beloved friends in the Anthony Christian Church and enjoyed their love and friendship very much.

Pat wore many 'hats' during her working career including:  floral design, Tupperware, Avon and Home Interiors salesperson; she was an Anthony Elementary School secretary, followed by bank teller for Citizens National Bank and First National Bank in Anthony.  If you attended Anthony Elementary School she may have applied a band-aid to your 'ouchie' and then a few years later gave your child a sticker at the bank drive-up window.

During her young years on the farm Pat helped feed, water and milk the cows; hoe, water and preserve the garden goods; and cook for her father's harvesting crew.  Pat learned early in life to be a hard-worker.  After her father left the family they moved into Waldron. Kansas.

Pat attended Waldron, Amorita, and Hazelton schools.  She was an excellent student, a cheerleader, played basketball, played the cymbals and triangle in the band and was a member of the choir.  She acquired many good friends and some of these were special lifelong friendships.

Pat learned her love of flowers from her grandmother, Nellie Welch.  She had quite a knack where flowers were concerned.  In the 1980's and 1990's Pat and Bill operated an open air flower market at their home.  They also had beautiful poinsettias for sale at Christmastime.  People still mention to this day that they miss buying plants from the Dautel's.

Bill and Pat enjoyed antiques.  For a number of years they traveled to antique shows, where they would set up a booth to sell, buy and trade antiques.  Pat was an excellent cook and a kind hostess.  She enjoyed sewing and working with her hands.  Bill and Pat loved to travel and enjoy the United States; they traveled from Pennsylvania to Yellowstone and Arizona to Florida.  They also made many trips to watch their children and grandchildren participate in their activities.

Pat always carried fond memories of her dear Grandparents Welch, aunts, uncles, and dear cousins who played an important and loving part of her life.

Pat will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving hugs.  She had a sweet disposition and was pleasant to be around.

Those preceding Pat in death include:  her husband Bill; her parents; Norma Peitz (sister); Richard Peitz (brother); Joseph Wayne Peitz (nephew); many special aunts, uncles and cousins, and many dear friends.

Pat will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her son, Todd of Lawrence, KS; daughters: Toni (Richard) McKee of Anthony, KS and Lanie (Sid) Burkholder of Harper, KS.  She will always be in the hearts of granddaughters:  Tiffani (Matt) Lara; Kelly (Tyler) Robertson; and Katie McKee; and grandsons: Sean McKee and Jon Burkholder; as well as great grandchildren:  Brooke, Eric, J-Dean, Mikhail, Brigham, Killian, Josh, Chris and Quintin, and great-great grandchildren: Carter and Dax; her very dear sister-in-law, Nancy Peitz; and her nieces, nephews, many relatives and her many dear friends.  Also her loving and caring families at Country Living, Patterson Health Center, and Rivercross Health Care.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Christian Church in Anthony, Kansas.  A private inurnment will be held at the Crystal Spring Cemetery.

Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.
