Naomi Victoria Easter was born on May 13, 1932 in Harper, Kansas to Bert Victor and Edna Jane (Armstrong) Mathes. She passed away at the Harper Hospital on October 31, 2016 at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 18 days.
Raised on the farm with her sister, Naomi attended school in the Harper area and graduated with the Harper High School class of 1951. She was long time member of the Church of Christ in Harper.
On August 17, 1952 at her grandmother's house in Harper, Naomi was united in marriage with Samuel Wayne Easter. They made their home on a farm near Harper and raised 4 kids: Richard, Danny, Dianna, and Larry. Naomi and Wayne were 3 weeks short of their 63rd anniversary when he passed away on July 28, 2015.
Naomi was a very kind and loving person. Being a natural caretaker, she tended to the farmstead, raised her children, and was always by her husband's side. These talents extended beyond the family as she spent many years working as a nurse's aide in home comfort. Later in life she enjoyed the long rides around the countryside looking at the wheat fields. She was very fond of birds, flowers, her dogs, and so many things that nature had to offer. Most of all, God was always first in her life.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband. Left behind for her to watch from above are her children: Richard Easter and his wife Iona, Danny Easter and his wife Kathy, Dianna Zerwas and her husband Joe, and Larry Easter and his wife Brenda; sister, Mae Green and husband H.L.; sister-in-law, Ella Mae Oehme; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
