Nadine Joan Williams was born on March 26, 1937 in Reno County, Kansas to Johnie Anthony and Ina Laree (McElwain) Johnson. She passed away on August 2, 2018 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 7 days.
Nadine attended Harper High School and graduated with the class of 1955. After graduating, she began working as a switchboard operator at Southwestern Bell Telephone in Harper. When the Harper location closed, she transferred to the Wichita office and worked as an administrative clerk, retiring after 32 years with the company.
Nadine was united in marriage with Keith Williams on August 26, 1962 in Harper. They were blessed with two children, Lana and Lance. After retirement, Nadine was able to relax and spend more time with her kids and grandkiddos. She loved going to her grandkids' sporting events, attending many, many baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, and volleyball events, treasuring every minute of watching them play and compete. Nadine also enjoyed and spent many hours gardening, mowing, and tending to her flowers.
In 2008, Nadine moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a big fan of Kevin Durant. So much so that she never missed an OKC Thunder game, as he was Mr. Thunder. Even after he jumped ship to play with the Warriors, she was whooping and hollering for him as a Golden State Warrior fan.
Preceding Nadine in death are her parents Johnie and Ina Johnson; husband, Keith Williams who passed on August 31, 1989; brother, Larry Johnson; and sisters: Marjorie Rorabaugh, Verda Belle Base, Erma Jean Johnson, and Marilyn Johnson. She is survived by her children: Lana Pearson and her husband, Preston of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Lance Williams and his wife, Alisha of Owasso, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Kale and Caitie Pearson, Kaylor Pearson, Kyler Pearson, Cheyenne Pitts, Channing Williams, Shaelynn Pitts, Zachary Pitts, Jaden Williams, and Jace Williams; sister, Shirley Smith of Cheney, Kansas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
