Mildred Louise Buck was born on April 12, 1940 in Wellington, Kansas to Lloyd Wilburn Summers and Mary Jane (Jarrett) Summers.  The family made their home in Attica, Kansas and this is where Mildred went to school.

After leaving home, Mildred held several jobs that took her throughout the country.  The list is long, but she talked most about her jobs as management in retail.  Upon her retirement in 2010, she came back to Kansas to make her home, eventually returning to Attica.

A people person, Mildred loved doing for others.  She was always first to step up to help however she could for family and friends.  Some of her favorite past times were working in the garden, spending time with family, spoiling her grandchildren, and girl trips with her daughters.  Mildred's faith was obvious and she loved her church family.  She was very active with church and community activities.

Mildred passed away on December 31, 2020 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 80.  Preceding her in death are her parents, Lloyd and Mary Summers; daughter, Gwenda Louise Casas; and siblings, Jim and Lloyd Summers.  She will be missed by her children, Angi Nickelson and husband, Gary of Peck, Kansas and Brianna Newberry and husband, Randy of Attica; husband, Darwin Buck of Attica and his children; grandchildren: Steffen Spear, Sarah Nelson, Garrett Nickelson, Bill Scearce, and Colton Nickelson; ten great-grandchildren; siblings: Pat Reece of Wichita, Kansas, Betty Gnoth of Cherokee Oklahoma, and Rose Denison of St. Cloud, Florida; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation is 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Attica Christian Church with Pastor Royce Vogt officiating.  Interment follows at the Attica Cemetery.  Please wear protective face covering if able to do so and practice social distancing.  Service will be recorded and available for viewing on this page after the service.
