Michael L. Topper, 64, passed away at the home of his daughter, Lorine K. Topper in Harper, Kansas on December 27, 2019. Michael was born on June 7, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Abraham Joseph and Vonda Lorraine (Reames) Topper.
Graduating from Central High School in Burden, Kansas with the class of 1974, he later attended Cowley County College for auto mechanics. Michael worked for Price Moving Storage and then helped Benton Topper doing fencing before going to work for the city of Burden. Michael was committed to Theresa Dennett in Burden from 1980 until 1989. He loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews, working on vehicles, working in the yard, and helping people when he could.
Preceding him in death are his mother, Vonda Topper on January 13, 2007; his father, Abraham Topper January 23, 2019; his brother Dennis Topper on September 7, 2015; and several aunts and uncles and other family members
Michael is survived by his daughter, Lorine Topper of Harper: her children: Jonathan Coy Jr., James Coy, Jessie Coy, and Jorja Coy; adopted grandchildren: Chris Silva and Holly Dondlinger; adopted son, Craig Topper and his wife, Kristy of Arkansas City; their children: Harley Topper, Haley Topper, Dalton Topper and wife Alexis Topper, and Callie Topper; adopted daughter, Raydel Massey and husband Brad of Perryville, Missouri; their children: Austin Gooch, Keith Massey, Allen Massey, Zack Higgins, and Aislyn Massey; nephew Nathan Topper; niece, Becky Gerlets and husband, Kenny Sr. of Bluff City, Kansas; their children: Staton Nelson and fiancé Megan Hargreves of Anthony, Whitney Nelson and boyfriend David Sandoval and Kenny Gerlets Jr. all of Bluff City, step-daughter, Ashley Addington and boyfriend Anthony Henderson and their 6 children. He will be missed by everyone ~ his many friends and family.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Christian Church in Harper with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Topper Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 613 W. 14th ~ Harper, Kansas 67058 is assisting the family with arrangements.
