Melvin E. Riedel was born May 30, 1941 in Barton County, Kansas, son of Bernard and Anna (Budig) Riedel. He was a manager at Bailey's Farm Store. After Bailey's closed he worked for various farmers. His life was blessed with three children: Beverly, Cynthia and Michael.

On December 26, 2016, Melvin passed away at Anthony Community Care Center at the age of 75 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Mantz; son-in-law, Doug Seachris; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Seachris.


Melvin will be deeply missed by his children: Beverly Seachris, Cindy Ash and husband, Bobby, and Mike Riedel; sister, Janet Thompson and husband, Dave; brother, John Riedel and wife, Emelda; three grandchildren: Ashlea Asper and husband, Mike, Eric Seachris, and Dallas Seachris and fiancé, Tiffany Morton; 4 great-grandchildren: Brent, Logan and Micah Asper and CJ Seachris; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.

Memorials in memory of Melvin may be made to the Interim Healthcare Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
