Mary L. Welch was born June 10, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Truman and Lillian (Davies) Smith.

On November 12, 1971, Mary was united in marriage with Robert Welch at Wichita, Kansas.  This union was blessed with two children:  Penny and Barry.  Mary was born-again February 8, 1973. From that time onward, she and Bob served the Lord faithfully and attended the Lincoln Baptist Church in Wichita.

Mary owned Preferred Choice Realty and worked as a broker for many years.  In earlier years she owned Country Blessing Gift Shop and Ms. Mary's Fudge.

On May 30, 2018, Mary passed away in the presence of family at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 20 days.  She was preceded in death by her father, Truman; and brothers: David, Steve and Greg.

Mary will be deeply missed by her husband, Bob; her children:  Penny Williams and Barry Welch and wife, Megan; her mother, Lillian Smith; siblings: Tom, Peggy, Sharon, Nancy, Marsha and Patty; 6 grandchildren:  Stephany and Wylie Williams and Jonathan, Joshua, Zachary and Catherine Welch; 3 great-grandchildren:  Kayden, Eternity and Destiny; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper, Kansas with Pastor Vernon Lindbloom officiating.  Burial will follow in the Harper Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose in Harper.

Memorials in memory of Mary may be made to the Lincoln Baptist Church Missionary Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
