Obituary

Mary Jane (Palmer) Anderson was born on July 8, 1944 in Harper, Kansas to Lloyd Robert and Erma Beatrice (Hufford) Palmer. She was raised in Harper with her sister, Peggy. This is where she attended school, graduating from Harper High School with the class of 1962. Mary Jane went on to attend Wichita State University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1967.

College is where Mary Jane met the love of her life, David "Brad" Anderson. They were united in marriage on September 2, 1967 in Harper, Kansas at the St. Patrick Catholic Church. Brad entered the Air Force and the couple lived in Oklahoma, California, and England before they were finally stationed at McConnell in Wichita. Along the way, they were blessed with a daughter, Stephanie Paige. The family made their home in Derby until Paige was out of school. Brad and Mary Jane then moved to the west side of Wichita.

Mary Jane was first and foremost a wife, mother, and homemaker. Through the years she worked outside the home part time, some as a teacher and then at an optometrist's office. Growing up, Mary Jane was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harper and the last few years had been a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in West Wichita.

On January 6, 2018, Mary Jane passed away at her home after battling cancer since 2013. Preceding her in death are her parents, Lloyd and Erma Bea and her son-in-law, Steven Nash that passed away on May 26, 2017 after his battle with AML. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Brad of the home; daughter, Paige of Richardson, Texas; sister, Peggy Christman of Independence, Missouri; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law and their spouses; three sisters-in-law and their spouses; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
