Marva Nakvinda's Obituary
Marva Lee Nakvinda was born June 2, 1951 in Anthony, Kansas, daughter of Marvin Everett and Tressie (Anderson) Folger. After a few years of farm life in Manchester, Oklahoma, the family moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated from North High School.
After graduating, Marva married and was blessed with one son, Douglas. Her family made their home in Enid, Oklahoma. Marva spent Doug's early years as a mother and homemaker. As he grew older she worked several part time jobs before going to work for George E. Failing Company, where she worked for many years.
In October of 2005, Marva began working at Blanchat Manufacturing in Harper, Kansas, after moving to a farm near Waldron, Kansas. She loved being back in her home area.
Marva lived life to the fullest and was always on the go. She loved motorcycle riding with her man, Johnny, and was a member of ABATE Chapter 412. She enjoyed camping, water skiing, travelling, sports, and most of all being surrounded by her family and friends. She was a dedicated, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her families' five generations.
On May 9, 2017, Marva passed away with family by her side at the Harper Hospital at the age of 65 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin; infant sister, Mary Frances Folger; sister, Elizabeth Jones; and grandparents: Everett and Beatrice Folger and Bryant and Opal Anderson.
Marva will be deeply missed by her mother, Tressie Folger; her son, Doug Nakvinda; her man, Johnny Cutright; sister, Jacqueline Folger; 4 grandchildren: Alisha Hall and husband, Scott, Dustin Nakvinda, Amber Nakvinda and Karma Nakvinda; 5 great-grandchildren: Darrius Hall, Davin Nakvinda, Zayree Swalve, Adalyn Hall and Chevy Henshall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Byron-Amorita Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Marva may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any Fire Department of donor's choice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
