Obituary

Marjorie E. Prosser was born on November 25, 1945 in Conway Springs, Kansas to Leslie Leo and Mary Ellen (Summers) Langston. She was raised in Conway Springs with her 7 siblings and she graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1963.

On April 19, 1963, Marjorie married Gary Dodson in Andover, Kansas. This union was blessed with 4 children: Rebecca, Tammy, Cathy, and Dale. After her divorce, Marjorie met Charles M. Prosser and the two were united in marriage on August 26, 1986 in Wichita, Kansas. They just celebrated their 31st anniversary 10 days prior to her passing. They made their home in Anthony, Kansas.

Marjorie loved people and enjoyed talking to anyone. This served her well as she worked as a Med Aide in the nursing home. She was also very dedicated to going to church and was a member of the Baptist Church.

On September 5, 2017, Marjorie passed away at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 11 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mary; 5 of her siblings: Leslie, Jess, and Charlie Langston, Marion McCartney, and Martha Burnett, and son-in-law, Doyle Turberville. She will be missed by her husband, Charles of the home; children: Rebecca (Robert) Weaver of Savannah, Georgia, Tammy Turberville of Mobile, Alabama, Cathy (Wade) Bell of Christoval, Texas, and Dale (Michelle) Dodson of Augusta, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Ables and Robert (Susan) Langston both of Wichita, Kansas; brother-in-law, Harold McCartney of Anthony; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Langston of Arizona; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Friends may register and view from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Harper.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper, Kansas with Pastor Warren Stanton officiating. Interment will follow at the Harper Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Anthony First Baptist Church and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
