Obituary

Marie E. Broussard was born on August 4, 1939 in Salem, Illinois to Floyd Ray and Pauline Bernice (Hunt) Perry. She passed away at her home in Harper on May 24, 2017 at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 20 days.

Marie was united in marriage with Ronnie Hunter on March 24, 1956 and they were blessed with 6 children: Betty, Lafreda, Ronnie, Lloyd, Earlvelya, and Tammy. Her second husband, Gene Kolesar, took on the kids as his own. She was later married to Wesley Broussard and they had a son together, John.

For many years, Marie owned and operated the Anthony Flea Market. She then became an in-home caretaker. But most of all she was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marie was a long time member of the Christian Church and it was only in the last few months of her life that she wasn't able to attend services.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Floyd and Pauline; husbands: Ronnie, Gene, and Wesley; son, Ronnie Hunter; great-grandson, Izaiah Chavez; and brothers-in-law, Clyde Throckmorton and Stanley Wethington. She is survived by her children: Betty Wall and husband, Raymond of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Lafreda Hurley and husband, Kelly of Wytheville, Virginia, Lloyd Hunter of Hominy, Oklahoma, Earlvelya Olson and husband, Christopher of Harper, Tammy Chavez and husband, David of Anthony, and John Broussard and wife, Crystal of Anthony; daughter-in-law Penny Hunter; siblings: Catherine Throckmorton, Freda Perry, Donald Perry and wife, Karen, Wanda Wethington, Walter Perry, Howard Perry and wife, Roxanne, and Floyd Perry and wife, Edie; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
