Louis Cink Jr. was born December 19, 1936 on the family farm east of Manchester, Oklahoma. He was one of three children born to Louis Sr. and Otilda (Conrady) Cink. He graduated from Wakita High School in 1954. After graduating he joined the Army National Guard, honorably serving for six years.

On January 31, 1967, Louis was married to Patsy Bland in the Wakita United Methodist Church, where they both were members. This union was blessed with four wonderful children, Michael, Colene, Wanda, and Annette.

In 1955, Louis began working at the Thornhill Gibson Gas Station in Wakita. He and Patsy purchased the gas station and it became Cink's 66. They sold the station in 1980. In 1981, Louis began working as an oilfield pumper for Vierson and Cochran Oilfield Company, before becoming a contract pumper. He retired in 2009.

Louis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a simple man, who enjoyed the small town life of Wakita. Every morning he looked forward to picking up his good friend, Ox, and taking him to have coffee at the grocery store.

On October 13, 2019, Louis passed away at his home in Wakita at the age of 82 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy on July 4, 2015; his parents; an infant daughter, Jolene; daughter, Wanda; and sister, Delores Mattingly.

Louis will be deeply missed by his children: Mike Cink, Colene Joslin and husband, Michael, and Annette Cink and companion, Charlie Mears; his sister, Joan Pentz; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Wakita, Oklahoma with Reverend Laura Glover officiating.

Visitation and viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas and from Noon to service time Thursday at the church.

Memorials in memory of Louis may be made to the Wakita Fire Department, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
