Lorine June Allen was born June 11, 1926 in Noel, Missouri to Lonnie Edgar and Pearly Minnie (Carr) Owen. She passed away at her home in Harper, Kansas on September 13, 2020 at the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 2 days.
Lorine resided in Harper for nearly 70 years. While raising her children, she owned and operated Lorine's Café, providing home-made meals to her loyal customers. She spent her years afterward providing childcare for many local residents, as well has many of her grandchildren. Lorine also loved to bowl making numerous trips to the state tournament. She was a wonderful crochet artist as well as creating beautiful items in other craft mediums. Watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren playing different sports or performing various activities brought her much joy. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed football as well. She loved watching her favorite teams over the years.
Lorine was a generous and giving woman. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, childcare family and friends all love her and think the world of her. Her home was open to all and she made everyone feel like part of her family. She was loved and will be deeply missed.
Lorine is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Pearly Owen; son, James Lloyd Allen; grandchild, Bobby Joe Spears; great-grandchild, Amanda Lynn Allen; great-great grandchild, Gavin Erin Booher; and siblings: Floyd Ray Owen, Lillie Angeline Roundtree, David Arthur Owen, Della Maydean Cupp, Jesse Lee Owen, Carl Levi Owen, Jonnie Edgar Owen, and Edward Leon Owen. She is survived by her sister, Susan Mae Schell; children: Cleva Joye Bickford and her husband Chuck, Marylon June Bieber and her husband, Dean, Lonnie Carrol Allen and his wife, Lula, Bonnie Deonna Spears (husband, Ed has passed), Darrell Wayne Allen and his wife, Susie, and Frances Beryleen Miller (husband, Ron has passed); daughter-in-law, Dawn Dee Allen (wife of the late Lloyd Allen); grandchildren: Kimberly Lynn Instenes and her husband, Doug, Vance Charles Bickford, Todd Christian Bieber and his wife Mary, Diedre Marie Van Zandt and her husband, Jim, Magdiel Allen and his wife, Shannon, Ronica Deon Rhude and her husband, Randy, Cassie Michelle Spears (wife of the late Bob Spears), Leona June Spears and her husband, Shwan, Eddy Lee Spears and his wife, Vanessa, Tyler Ray Allen and his wife, Debbie, Kevan Wayne Allen and his wife, Lori, Kathrane Renee Allen, Randy Jo Miller and his wife, Carmella, Scott Alan Miller, Jason Leon Allen and his wife, Jolynn, and Matthew DeWayne Allen and his wife Kember; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Graveside Service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Harper Cemetery with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Please wear protective face covering if able to do so. Service will be live streamed on our Facebook page. www.facebook.com/prairierosefuneralhomes
