Lori Lynn (Mize) Garlow was born June 6, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to David Payne and Mary (Kane) Mize.  She attended school in Anthony, graduating from Chaparral with the Class of 1976.

On June 25, 1976, Lori married the love of her life, Richard Garlow at a small ceremony in Anthony, Kansas.  To this union two daughters were born, Lynda and Jodi.

Lori worked for her stepdad, Max, at Mize Company in Kingman for a few years before going to work at Lear Jet in Wichita.  After many years she retired from Lear Jet.

In 1995, Rick and Lori's youngest daughter, Jodi was in a horrible car accident.  Both Rick and Lori dedicated their lives to taking care of Jodi until Lori's health needed more attention and Jodi moved to Arrowhead West in Pratt.

On December 17, 2021, Lori passed away from injuries received in a car accident.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Rick in 2016; her brother, Steve "Buck" Payne; and her niece, Jamie Garlow.

Lori is survived by her daughters, Lynda Newberry and husband, Dustin, and Jodi Garlow; her mother, Mary Mize; stepfather, Max Mize; her grandchildren: Austin Newberry, Kierstin Newberry and fiancé, Eric Vogt, Kaitlin Newberry, Kylin Newberry, Kambrin Newberry, and Randell Newberry; sister-in-law, Angie Payne and husband, Ed Cronin; brothers-in-law, Steve Garlow and wife, Nancy, and Gary Garlow and wife, Kathy; 8 nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Ron Eden officiating.

Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arrowhead West -Eastland House, where Lori's daughter, Jodi, resides, and may be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
