Obituary

Lois Olga Ricker was born September 29, 1920 in Gretna, Nebraska, daughter of Henry and Olga (Klutz) Armbrust. She grew up on a farm near Gretna, Nebraska with 2 brothers and 1 sister.

On January 25, 1942, Lois was united in marriage with George Ricker Jr. This union was blessed with three children: Phillip, Roszella and George. They made their home on a farm near Wakita, Oklahoma.

Lois loved being a homemaker and farm wife. They raised cattle, hogs and chickens, farmed wheat and gardened. She was a member and the President of the Home Demonstration Club in Wakita. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, attending her children's school activities and playing cards with her friends. She always looked forward to their vacations to Nebraska to see her family.

In the late 70's, Lois and Jr. sold the farm and moved to Enid. Lois went to work at Bass Memorial Hospital in the cafeteria. In 1983, Jr. passed away, and she continued working until retiring in 1990. Lois then moved to Anthony, Kansas to be closer to family.

On March 8, 2017, Lois passed away at the Anthony Community Care Center at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jr.; 2 brothers; 1 sister; 2 grandchildren; 1 granddaughter-in-law; and 1 great-grandchild.

Lois will be deeply missed by her children: Phillip Ricker and wife, Georgia, Roszella Hobbs and husband, Daryle, and George Ricker and wife, Chere; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may sign register from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11. 2017 at the Wakita Cemetery in Wakita, Oklahoma with Kent Olds officiating.

Memorials in memory of Lois may be made to the Rivercross Hospice or to the Anthony Community Care Center and sent in care of the funeral home.
