Lloyd Michael "Mickey" DuVall was born on April 16, 1964 in Wellington, Kansas, the son of Larry Dwayne and Lois Elaine (Harding) Duvall.

Mickey was a fighter. His life was rooted in his love for God, his mother, daughters, and grandchildren.  His greatest victory was his sobriety, something he worked towards every day with pride.  He credited God for giving him the strength to continue on this journey until his last day.  His faith was central to who he was - personal, unwavering, and real.  Through every trial, his belief remained constant.

Mickey's daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy, giving him purpose and something to fight for.  Even on his hardest days, his love for them shone through in the way he talked about them, showed up when he could, and wanted better for them than he sometimes believed he deserved for himself.  The way Mickey loved his mother showed the depth of his heart and love for his family.  It was steady, protective, and full of gratitude.

Mickey was drawn to those in need, always willing to give what he could. Mickey never knew a stranger and befriended just about everyone he met.  He always found ways to provide for others before himself.

If Mickey could say anything to us now, it would be: God is real.  Not a story or tradition, but a presence that'll meet you where you are, even in your mess.  Don't wait until you're cleaned up or have it all together - He worked in Mickey because he was willing, not perfect.

When life gets loud, hold onto God harder than you hold onto fear, anger, or pride, because those things will fail you, God won't.

At the age of 61, Mickey passed away at his home in Harper, Kansas on February 17, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Duvall and grandson, Izaiah Chavez.  Mickey will be missed by his mother, Elaine Armstrong of Harper; children, Dalores Chavez of Salina and Daniele Smith (Jacob Walter) of Harper; grandchildren: Dylan Holloway, Benecia Chavez, Jobb Torres, Jaiden Smith, and Layla Smith; siblings: Latricia Barker (Carl) and Thad DuVall (Kim), all of Harper; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service is 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Eastside church of Christ, Harper with David High officiating.  After the service, join the family for a Celebration of Life and lunch at the Westview Lodge on west US160 in Harper.  A private family inurnment will take place at the Harper Cemetery.

Let's remember Mickey for the son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and friend he was to so many.
