Obituary

Linda Yvonne (Moses) Ball Shelton made her presence known on February 26, 1946 in Bakersfield, California. She was the first born child of Clarence "Frank" and Gwendolyn (LaRue) Moses. When she was in Jr. High School the family moved to Anthony, Kansas, where she completed school, graduating from Anthony High School in 1964. After graduation she attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas.

At the age of 10, in a little Freewill Baptist Church in Arvin, California, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

Linda worked at many things over the years: babysitting, housekeeping and waiting tables to name a few. However, the years she spent in long term care were the most rewarding. She worked as an Activity Director, Social Service Designee, Nurse Aide and Med Aide, having certificates in all these areas. She also worked as a Case Manager for the Long Term Care in Home Services for the State of Kansas. Before retirement she was a Business Office Manager in a nursing home in Norwich, Kansas.

Her greatest desire in life was to be a mother, and she practiced on her three little sisters and brother, much to their chagrin. On April 9, 1966, this desire was fulfilled when she married Lloyd Delmer Ball. She became an instant mother to 6 year old, Christene and 5 year old, Terry Ball. In quick succession she had two more boys, Delmer Ray and Michael Don. Of all the titles she held in her lifetime, she always said "Mama and Grandma" were her favorites. Mr. Ball passed away in 1992.

On July 1, 2002, she married Tommy Shelton in Arkansas City, Kansas. This union brought four more children and numerous grandchildren, increasing her happiness immensely.

In her spare time, Linda enjoyed reading and sewing. She especially enjoyed doing embroidery work, often making her own patterns for baby quilts for family members.

She and Tommy attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas, where they served as much as health permitted.

Linda left our presence to be with the Lord on April 22, 2018. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lloyd Ball; sons: Michael Don and Delmer "Ray;" and granddaughter, Melissa Ball.

She will be waiting in Heaven for her husband, Tommy; her children, Christene and husband, Roy Little and Terry Ball and wife, Chris; her siblings: Dianna Davis, Aleta Armstrong, Clarence Moses and Wanda Smith. She will also be looking for her grandchildren: Annette and husband, Trent Lee, Crystal and husband, Dean Hardiman, Christopher Otis, Elizabeth and husband, Danny Mark, Jessica Ball, Jillian Ball, Caleb Ball, Tanner Ball and Michael Lloyd Ball and wife, Makayla; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Jimmy Van Dyke officiating. (NOTICE: Due to construction on Madison Street please go 1 block east of funeral home to Jefferson Street and then south to the church parking lot for additional parking.)

Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
